I ordered two custom cut cushions for my RV dinette. The first order arrived, was opened right away and the cushions were left to do their thing for almost 10 days. The 3 1/2” thickness and 20 1/2” width measured perfectly as soon as the foam was unwrapped. The 42” length never happened. While the pieces ‘expanded’ somewhat during the 10 days, they were both short the 42” dimension. I contacted the company, provided pictures and they were nice enough to re-do the order, I received the second set of pieces July 14 and opened them immediately. Again, the 3 1/2” thickness and 20.5” dimensions measured exact as soon as the foam was unwrapped. Alas, the 42” length is still too short. By 1/2 an inch. I understand the foam is compressed for shipping and needs to ‘relax’ once opened, but why would the thickness and width dimensions measure perfectly right out of the box? The density of the foam is much better than the old stuff I want to replace but how many times do I have to order and receive the correct size?

I purchased two pieces of foam to replace the seat cushions on a couch. The ordering process was easy, and I really appreciated the guidance for how to determine the dimensions of foam to order. I am very pleased with the results! I used spray glue to affix batting to the foam, and then I put the cushions in the existing cushion covers. The fit is pretty snug but I was able to get the foam into the covers without too much trouble. My couch looks a lot better and is much more comfortable to sit on! The new cushions are on the firm side for me, I wouldn't want them any firmer, and that might partially be because my weight is only about 115 lbs. The new foam cushions were not cheap, but the money I spent is a lot less than what I would have spent on a new couch. I feel really good about keeping this couch instead of selling it or trashing it. I'm also going to repurpose my old couch cushions into dog beds.
